Crispin Davis Menefee is a homegrown 5th generation Nashvillian. Her local family history is filled with public servants and educators going as far back as a great grandfather, who served as a sergeant in the Nashville City Police Department until his death in 1904, Andrew N. Davis. A graduate of Overbrook Catholic School and Harpeth Hall School, she received a BA in French from the University of Tennessee.
Crispin considers herself a lifelong student of horses and as a bi-product she has been involved in full-time farm and equine management, since 2000. This even included owning and operating an equine sports therapy facility that specialized in the post injury rehabilitation of thoroughbred racehorses. The 24/7 nature of farm and equine management has instilled a hard working, roll up her sleeves, and down to earth type of approach to life.
Today, Crispin and her husband John (who is also a native Nashvillian), together, manage their farms, as well as, their commercial real estate company which focuses on the preservation of historic Tennessee buildings. They are land and wildlife conservationists and support non-profits and organizations that align with these values. They attend church at the Cathedral of the Incarnation which their respective families (Davis-Menefee) have attended since its opening in 1914.
As a Constitutional Republican, Crispin considers it crucial that every US citizen understand, protect, and uphold the US Constitution which is the vital framework that allows Americans with differing views and opinions to peacefully and constructively discuss then together solve our country’s and our communities' most pressing challenges. The US Constitution is the “bible” to a healthy Republic and Democracy. Crispin is fiscally conservative, socially moderate, and civically progressive.
The Volunteer State is in crisis affecting every city and town, and Nashville is taking the brunt of it. Too little has been done to solve the Big Crises that Tennesseans struggle with on a daily basis. Together these crises threaten the longterm, sustainable growth as well as the overall health of every community. We must work together as Tennesseans to hammer out effective and innovative solutions that make our state a leader in facing its unique challenges ... read more
